In Class Final part 2 March 10

Project 6
 -- 40 points
Ø  Read 246 – 263. Then write a Progress Report with the subject “My Progress in Writing 101.” Use page 262 as a model. The length needs to be 1- 1.5 pages.
Ø  Paper needs to be 11 pt. Times Roman, 1.5 spaced in the class format.
Ø  (1)Print the copies and write notes in the margins to indicate where the description followed the particular formats on the model pages. Due no later than 3:45
Ø   (2) Attach the report to an e-mail.
Ø   (3) In the e-mail explain what the reports are about and that it is attached.
Ø   (4) Send it to me.  Due no later than 3:50

Final Part 1


Final Part 1 – 20 points

For each of the first five projects you did for this class, type a 3 -4  -- sentence summary. The summary needs to include (1) the structure of doing the particular technical writing genre, and (2) the subject and purpose that particular report, and (3) how you performed (include score).

For example, a summary about the business proposal would include:

 (1) General information about how to write a business proposal (from instructions in the book and in your notes).

 (2) The subject and purpose of this proposal (i.e. to request investment from Apple Computers for a new app created for a phone).

(3) I achieved a score of 42/50, and did well to describe the usefulness of the product but needed to do better at including research.

Close attention will be paid to use of grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation.

2.   Get a researched source for Project 5, print it, and hand it in.

Project 5


TType a business proposal for something you really think will work. Go through the steps in the pplanning handout. Do appropriate research so that your proposal is professional and convincing.


  Length: 1.5 to 2 pages   

  Papers need to be 11 pt. Times Roman, 1.5 spaced.


(1)   Print the copies and write notes in the margins to indicate where the description followed the particular formats on the model pages.  Bring these to class.

(2)    Attach the reports to an e-mail.

 (3)  In the e-mail explain what the reports are about and that it is attached.

 (4)  Send it to me.

Project 4
Ø  Write a technical description for a particular field. Follow the format from the textbook example on page 148.  Make this a description that you could use in your field of study. The length needs to be two pages in the following format: 
Ø  The description should be 11 pt. Times Roman, 1.5 spaced. At the top of the page, put your name, class, date, and instructor name:
Ø  Also, add graphics to enhance this description (however graphics cannot be more than 20% of the paper). Then:
Ø  (1) print the copy and write notes in the margins to indicate where the description followed the particular format on page 148 (similar to how the textbook does with blue ink).
Ø   (2) Attach the description to an e-mail.
Ø   (3) In the e-mail explain what the description is about and that it is attached
Ø   (4) Send it to me.

1. Type a first draft paragraph or two of the definition and overall description of the subject of your technical description.(examples on pages 135, 143, 148).

2. Type a one-sentence response to each of the strategies under "Researching" on page 140
